The liver is a gland in humans, which plays an important role in metabolism, and should be placed in the digestive system. It is used to detoxify the body as glycogen reservoir, production of plasma proteins and the production of bile. Human liver is the largest gland of the body. It weighs approximately 1.5 pounds, so it is the largest organ in the abdominal cavity. It is located in the right upper abdomen, under the right dome of the diaphragm. Partly goes to the left under the arch skirt. Liver is brown-red color, consistency is soft and pliable. Gland is fragile, so when accidents often cause cracks with massive life-threatening bleeding. The shape of the liver is very specific, it can be seen from the front likened to a right triangle.
